About HomestuckToronto Empty About HomestuckToronto

Post by Aze Sat Mar 04, 2017 10:49 am

HomestuckToronto is a prospective meetup group for Homestuck fans, run and organized by Aze (Toni). She's a large fan of Homestuck herself and is an adult female of 24 years old.

Official meetups are all about fun and, on some days, Cosplays! Unofficial meetups can be anywhere from libraries to parks, and if you want to bring homework, Aze can help with it. She's more than willing to do what she can to help younger members with any issues they have, but she's a firm believer in not flat-out giving them homework answers, for instance, and if they require homework help, she'll merely help them reach the right answer on their own. But please save homework and such for unofficial meetups!

HomestuckToronto is meant to be a a friendly and caring place to talk about Homestuck, play games and do fun activities with other homestuck fans, and in short, to feel safe. It's also a transparent group that will be upfront and honest about its activities to parents/guardians/caregivers. It is a mixed group that will allow both adults and minors of 13+, but with the safety measures that Aze has put in place, it should remain a healthy and happy environment for all ages, as it is purely a group meant to allow people to have fun socializing with other people with similar interests. That's it.

HomestuckToronto has a policy of exclusively meeting at public places, and there will be every effort made to keep everyone safe, regardless of age or identity.

If you want to join HomestuckToronto, just talk about it on the forums, or drop in on a meetup, well, you've come to the right place! However, if you're an adult, you will be required to check in with Aze before you join in on a meetup for the safety of everyone involved. That's why you'll never see the meetup times or locations unless you're part of the 'Approved Members' group or the 'Parents' group on the forums!

Additionally, parents are encouraged to make an account and check in on the forums from time to time to ensure that they know what their child is being exposed to. While it isn't likely that they'll be exposed to anything bad, Aze would highly prefer that parents take an interest in their child(ren)'s life regardless, so that there's an open and honest line of communication between all parties.
